St Alphege is a beautiful church located in the heart of Solihull. It has stood at the end of the High Street for over eight hundred years and is one of the landmarks of the town. It provides an excellent venue for all kinds of events.
In addition to regular worship services, weddings, baptisms and funerals mentioned elsewhere, the church is available for hire as a venue for concerts and recitals. The church can also be hired as a venue for meetings and conferences. We can seat up to 450 people (including performers).
Equipment & Instruments
St Alphege boasts a fine church pipe organ dating from the 19thCentury, rebuilt in 1977 by Nicholson of Malvern. We also have a Yamaha upright piano.
We have an Audio-Visual System with projectors and screens which can be linked to a laptop and video cameras.
We have two permanently installed sound systems both operated from the same AV desk with separate mixers, amplifiers and speakers. One sound system is used for speech reinforcement. The other sound system is used for music reproduction and computer output.
We have tea and coffee making facilities and folding tables for the serving of refreshments.
