Our successful choral outreach programme is now in its second academic year, working with four local junior schools: this year, they are TGPA Yew Tree, Langley, Sharmans Cross and Oak Cottage. In both years, the first term has culminated in a Carol Festival in December, and the second term has been spent working towards a fun performance of a jazz cantata: Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo in 2024 and Daniel Jazz in 2025. The summer term this year will lead to an exciting performance at the Solihull Choir Festival at 5pm on Friday 27 June on the Mell Square Stage.
We are pleased to be able to offer children in Years 3 to 6 in participating schools the
chance to join this extra-curricular singing activity, which has the following benefits:
• Performance in exciting end-of-term concerts with three other schools
• Deepen musical understanding with fun aural and theory games
• Emotional wellbeing and academic potential will improve through singing
• Opportunity to audition for St. Alphege Choirs, singing in cathedrals/concert tours
